String analysis language

alternate simple view
Country: Germany
Designed 1973
Genus: Text analysis

for COMputing and StringKEEping language (but presumably also from Chomsky!)

Pascal/Algol 60 like syntax, with string manipulation partly inspired by Snobol and Comit, but also by Houdsen's string ratinalisations (see reference)
Saarbrücken 1973-85

Part of SFB 100 project

Development of a system for the support of tasks of programming within the linguistic range. To it belong also theoretical investigations, which concern the distorting shank of formal languages. The development of the system COMSKEE made an intensive study of the relevant linguistic data processing problems necessary. The system was revised several times and developed further. To our surprise it could also successfully be inserted use the universitaeren range. Users are there the saarbruecker newspaper and authorities of the EEC in Luxembourg. COMSKEE possesses fully dynamic data types, which also permit it to furnish and administer large data bases on background accumulators. This happens in very efficient and storage location-saving way. The integration of such possibilities into a higher programming language seems to have been unique until 1985.

It was used at Saarlandes University to develop the CADIC system for VLSI
